Jaguars DE Calais Campbell Calls a ‘Players Only’ Meeting to Try and Save Season

Defensive end Calais Campbell called a players-only meeting on Monday to figure out their problems and reset objectives to save their season from turning into a complete disaster, John Reid of the Florida Times-Union reports.

After Sunday’s 20-7 loss to the Houston Texans, defensive end Yannick Ngakoue’s frustration was on display when the locker room door swung open briefly and Campbell was seen trying to restrain him while he was yelling.

Now, even Jalen Ramsey’s brashness has vanished. He couldn’t deny that they’re at a crossroads, unable to perform anything like last season on both sides of the ball when they advanced to the AFC title game.

In seven weeks, the Jaguars (3-4) have gone from Super Bowl contenders to winless in the AFC South (0-2).

They’re on a dreadful three-game losing streak in which they’ve been outscored 57-0 in the first half.

“It is no secret what’s going on here right now,” Ramsey said after Sunday’s game. “Ain’t nobody going to say it because we can’t. But it ain’t no secret what’s going on here. It is what it is.”
