Jags Sign Back Center Meester; CB Starks

The Jaguars made a move on Friday, the first day of free agency, as they have brought back center Brad Meester. According to John Clayton at ESPN, the unrestricted free agent has agreed to a four-year, $10 million deal to stay in Jacksonville.

He was the teams 2nd round pick back in the 2000 season, and has been a solid player on their O-line over the years. The 6-3, 295-pound Meester ranks third in team history with 129 games started.

“This is definitely where we want to stay, my wife and I, and we’re just so thankful to get the opportunity to be able to come back here,” Meester said. “I’m excited about being back here and about this upcoming season. I know they’ve let go of some guys but I was always optimistic that I’d be able to get the chance to come back here and luckily I’ve been given that chance and I’m just very thankful for that.”

The Jags also today brought back CB Scott Starks with a new deal. He was the teams 3rd round pick back in 2005.
