Jaguars and RB Freeman Don’t Come to Terms, Team Going with RB by Committee

The Jaguars played host to free agent running back Devonta Freeman over the weekend, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Freeman and the team could not come to terms on a deal.

That means the “running back by committee” that the Jaguars were reported to be ready to roll with for 2020 seems to be in place.

Freeman would have added another piece to the backfield, as he is a quality veteran back who is playing with a chip on his shoulder after leaving the Falcons.

For now, it will be Chris Thompson, undrafted rookie James Robinson and second-year players Devine Ozigbo or Ryquell Armstead who will fight it out for carries come opening day.
