Jaguars Place WR Jaydon Mickens on IR, Re-Sign WR Rashad Greene

The Jaguars have placed wide receiver Jaydon Mickens on injured reserve Monday and re-signed wideout Rashad Greene according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.com.

Mickens fractured his ankle in Sunday’s demoralizing 40-7 road loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Originally an undrafted free agent out of the University of Washington, has been with the Jags for two seasons. Used primarily as a return specialist, the 24-year-old has played in all six games in 2018 and has returned 12 punts for a 4.9 yards per return average and six kickoffs for a 24.8 average. Mickens’ injury will take four to six weeks to heal and he is a good bet to be designated for return late this season.

To help fill the void, the Jaguars re-signed wide receiver/return specialist Rashad Greene. Greene, originally selected by Jacksonville in the fifth round of the 2015 draft out of Florida State, rejoins the team after spending the offseason and parts of this season with the Jaguars. The 26-year-old has appeared in 17 career games, catching 24 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. He has also has returned 39 punts for an 11.0 yards per return average, including a 73-yard touchdown against Indianapolis in 2015. Wide receiver Dede Westbrook may also see some additional time fielding punts.
