Jaguars Kick the Tires on Former Pro Bowl CB Alterraun Verner

The Jaguars worked out former Pro Bowl cornerback Alterraun Verner last week, a league source told Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union on Sunday.

Verner, 28, has 15 interceptions in 110 career games for Tennessee and Tampa Bay. He was released by the Buccaneers on Feb. 23 to free up $6.5 million in salary cap space.

Since he became a free agent, Verner has not been connected to a team for a workout or general interest.

The Jaguars open organized team activity workouts on Tuesday.

The Jaguars’ interest in Verner is a sign they are concerned about the depth behind Jalen Ramsey, A.J. Bouye and Aaron Colvin.
