Jaguars CB Gratz Arrested In Miami Early Sunday

Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times Union reports about the issues that Jaguars CB Dwayne Gratz found when he took a weekend trip to Miami.

Jaguars cornerback Dwayne Gratz’s first trip to Miami ended with a visit to jail.

Gratz was arrested at 5:53 a.m. Sunday by the Miami Beach Police Department following a disturbance and was cited for disorderly intoxication and trespassing.

Police were called when a store employee balked at Gratz’s request to pay for his items with bubble gum instead of money.

Gratz left jail at 6 a.m. Monday but did not attend the Jaguars’ practice.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley talked in generalities about Gratz’s situation.

“I’ll meet with him and we’ll handle it internally,” Bradley said. “It’s not good what took place, but it’s a matter we have to investigate even more when he gets back here. I want to talk to him and we’ll handle some things with him.”

After his press conference, Bradley added: “I don’t know all of the information that took place, but one of our rules is, ‘Protect the team and make the decisions that put our organization [in high regard].’ When you don’t, there are penalties.”
