The Jacksonville Jaguars, much like most of the other teams around the league, have been doing their part in the opening days of free agency. The Jaguars have signed running back Toby Gerhart to hopefully replace the spot of Maurice Jones-Drew at running back. The Jaguars also traded away former first-round pick, quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Today, the Jaguars are still looking to improve.
The Jaguars met with former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and defensive end Ziggy Hood. Both players are free agents and have no indication of being re-signed by the Steelers as of yet.
For Sanders, he has a long list of teams that are interested in what he can bring to an organization. Sanders helped quarterback Ben Roethlisberger have one of his best performances during the 2013 season in his career. Sanders caught 67 passes for 740 yards and six touchdowns.
Hood was the 32nd pick of the 2009 NFL Draft but never flourished in the 3-4 system like the Steelers hoped that he would. It will be interesting if Hood goes somewhere played in the 4-3 scheme instead.
