Reports from ESPN’s Ed Werder are suggesting that Blaine Gabbert has a torn labrum.
While this has not officially ruled him out of future action, it probably means that we will see more of quarterback Chad Henne. As per Werder’s report, Gabbert’s MRI was also sent to Dr. James Andrews for further evaluation.
Henne was not at all efficient in his relief duties when Gabbert went down against the Oakland Raiders. The offense sputtered, and the Raiders came back to win in overtime. Should Gabbert be ruled out this week against the Packers, or for an extended period of time, the team will need to sign another quarterback. As of now however, it appears that our starting quarterback is Chad Henne.
