Jags Come to Terms with Veteran Safety Chris Harris

The Jaguars signed veteran Chris Harris today and waived cornerback Kevin Rutland, Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Lowery is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after sustaining an ankle injury last week against Chicago.

Harris has started 88 of 96 games in his NFL career for Carolina, Chicago and Detroit. He was with the Bears and Lions last year, making 40 tackles in 11 games. He has 16 career interceptions.

Harris started his career with Chicago before moving to Carolina and then back to the Bears.

Rutland played 22 snaps in the first three games – including 19 in the opener at Minnesota – but sustained a concussion at Indianapolis in Week 3 and was inactive the last two games.
