Maurice Jones-Drew Placed on the Reserve/Did Not Report List

The Jaguars have placed star running back Maurice Jones-Drew on the reserve/did not report list, Aaron Wilson of Profootball.scout.com. They have the right under the NFL collective bargaining agreement to fine him $30,000 for each day of camp he misses.

The Jaguars have made it clear they won’t renegotiate Jones-Drew’s $31 million deal inked three years ago. Jones-Drew has already been paid $21.85 million, but is due $4.45 million this year and $4.95 million next year.

Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,606 yards.

  1. Alexandra Black says:

Give Mojo his back pay! He has been and is the only reason to make the trip downtown. The Jaguars have nothing in Gabbert, very little in a head coach. Justin Blackmon hasn’t put a cleat on the field. At the wideout position let’s hope Lee Evans doesn’t break a hip. Anger’s a great punter but for all the help this team needs was giving up a third round pick for a punter a desperate act to keep the offense off the field as long as possible?
MAURICE JONES-DREW playing on one of the worst teams in the NFL led the entire NFL in rushing and Mularkey and company should give the man the money because no one is coming to the stadium without something to see!! The money the Jaguars will lose if MoJo isn’t on the field in great form when the stadium turns up empty and television advertising turns to local bait and tackle shops.
I’m begging you “Jaguars Management” give me something good to watch, to be proud of and a little bit of hope about the team I’ve supported since game 1. Right now my only hope is that the Jaguars will have the number 1 draft pick next year.
