Harris in action during Jaguars OTA's
The Jaguars signed 2012 sixth round pick Mike Harris to a contract today, the details of the contract are currently undisclosed.
Harris, a cornerback out of Florida State, primarily played in the nickel. After transfering from El Camino community college in California, Harris played for the Seminoles for two seasons. He finished 2nd on the team in tackles last year with 58, and finishes his collegiate career with the Seminoles with 102 tackles and five interceptions in two seasons.
“He likes contact,” said Head Coach Mike Mularkey after the 2012 draft,”in our defense our corners have to tackle, and they have to tackle physically. He’s one of those guys.”
The Jaguars also signed rookie free agent cornerback and return specialist Dontrell Johnson. Johnson played two seasons at Murray State.
To make room for Johnson on the roster, the Jaguars waived fourth year cornerback Morgan Trent, who played in five games with the Jaguars in 2011.
