Knighton Confident About 2012 Return

Knighton hits Chargers QB Phillip Rivers

Injured Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton is convinced that he will be ready for training camp.

“I’ll be 100 percent.” Knighton said after the Jaguars eighth day of OTA’s on Wednesday.

Knighton, who injured his eye in a bar fight earlier in the off-season told the media that his vision was improving day by day and once he has the last of his stitches removed he will be able to begin practising in preparation for the 2012 season and although he isn’t currently medically cleared for practice Knighton isn’t letting time go to waste.

“I’m not letting them hold me back much,” Knighton said. “The only thing I really can’t do is practice. Each week, I try sliding myself in some drills. They won’t let me, but it’s a process and I don’t want to rush it,” Knighton said, “Whether you’re here or not, you can do defensive line stuff. You can do that walking in the grocery store. Anything you do can relate to defensive line stuff. With us, it’s just working on moves and having a short burst and being in condition.”

John Oesner of Jaguars.com noted that Knighton took part in an extensive workout on Wednesday to the side of the field – which means he is technically not practicing – and he appeared in good shape and moved through the drill quickly.
