The Jaguars have agreed to a four year, $5.1 million deal, with their second round draft pick, DE Andre Branch.
By signing, Branch becomes the first player from the Jaguars 2012 rookie class to be inked to a deal. Branch is coming off a stellar senior year at Clemson and is already pencilled in as the starting defensive end opposite Jeremy Mincey. Branch’s strengths are in his pass rush skills the downfall of his game, and an area he will need to improve on, is his ability to stop the run. He will need to prove he can do this in order to solidify his status as a starter on the Jaguars defense.
The Jaguars now need to get to work on securing the rest of their draft class in what should be a relatively easy task, when compared to previous years, due to the new CBA.
