Family First — a moto within the Jaguars organization, and a moto they clearly stand by.
Jaguars cornerback Aaron Ross will be taking a few days off from training camp in the summer to go and support his wife at her job. Only her job is a little different to most.
Sanya Richards-Ross, Aaron’s wife, is a favourite in this summers 400 metres at the Olympic games in London.
Ross, reportedly asked GM Gene Smith and Head Coach Mike Mularkey if they would allow him to go and see his wife in London before he signed with the Jaguars. The Jaguars front office accepted his request and Ross signed with the Jaguars.
“They talked about it and came to an agreement that I could miss a couple of days to go watch my wife run,” Ross said. “They preach family first here, so that was a big part of it.”
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Ross family and I’m very pleased to see the Jaguars being so gracious in letting Ross miss a few days.
Ross’ previous team the New York Giants did not offer him the same deal back in 2008 at the Bejing Olympics.
