Looking Closer at the Jaguars 2012 Schedule

The NFL released the Jaguars 2012 schedule on Tuesday.  At this stage of the off-season we can learn very little from analyzing a schedule, but based on my overall opinion of the teams form last season, the Jaguars schedule is quite favourable.

They open the season at Minnesota, a a far from complete team in rebuild mode. This could be the perfect time to catch Minnesota without running back Adrian Peterson, or at least an Adrian Peterson at less than 100% as he recovers from last years knee injury.

The Jaguars toughest run of games comes in a two week span in weeks 8 and 9, when they travel to Green Bay and then host the Detroit Lions.

Week 14 will see the New York Jets and Tim Tebow will come to Jacksonville, which will surely be a sell out, as people flock to see hometown hero Tebow.

Upon initial look, I like the Jaguars schedule due to the majority of the tougher games being sandwiched between “easier” games, for example, New England, in week 16, are placed between Miami and Tennessee, and after a tough week 2 match-up with Houston they will travel to a rebuilding Indianapolis.

Whilst seasonal predictions at this point mean little, I’m going to predict the Jaguars finish 2012 with a 9-7 record, with wins against Minnesota, Indianapolis, Oakland, Indianapolis, Houston, Tennessee, New York Jets, Miami and Tennessee.

Predictions may mean little, but you know you did the exact same thing as soon as you saw the schedule — we all do.
