Jaguars Will Not Receive Any Compensatory Draft Picks in 2012

The Jaguars will not receive any compensatory draft picks in this years draft. The list of teams who will receive the compensatory picks was released yesterday at the NFL league meetings in Palm Beach.

The compensatory picks are given to teams who had lost significant free agents in the previous season. However, that is cancelled out if a team makes significant free agency moves themselves.

In 2011 the Jaguars lost Justin Durant, Adam Podlesh and Kirk Morrison, but they signed players such as Clint Session, Paul Posluszney, Drew Coleman and Dawan Landry which effectively cancelled out their rights to any compensatory picks in 2012.
