Jaguars re-sign offensive linemen Whimper, Robinson

Whimper in action for the Jaguars

The Jaguars have re-signed offensive lineman Guy Whimper to a two year deal reportedly worth up to $5 million.  They also re-signed offensive lineman Will Robinson.

Whimper started 15 games for the Jaguars in 2011, 14 at right tackle and 1 at left tackle. If the Jaguars had not re-signed him, Whimper would be a free agent this year.

Whimper led the league in sacks allowed in 2011 — thus the decision to re-sign him may not excite Jaguars fans.

However, despite his lack luster record, Whimper does know the Jaguars system, which gives the Jaguars some depth and stability along the offensive line.

In addition to the Jaguars decision to re-sign Whimper they also re-signed Will Robinson. Robinson was originally signed by the Jaguars in late december, after he was released by the New Orleans Saints.
