Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is interviewing Friday with the Jaguars for their open head coaching position, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network who cites league sources.
The Jets confirmed Monday during their end-of-year news conference that the Jaguars had asked permission to interview Schottenheimer, but Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum expressed optimism that Schottenheimer would be back in New York for a seventh season. Rex Ryan, however, called it a 50-50 chance and said he believes Schottenheimer will be a head coach at some point in his career.
