OL Haslam Likely to Spend 2011 on IR

Jaguars offensive lineman Kevin Haslam will likely spend the 2011 season on injured reserve after injuring his knee during Saturday night’s scrimmage, Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union reports.

“He has an MCL and some other things,” Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said Monday. “It’s likely going to be more of a longer term out, (we’re) talking months, not days or weeks. In all likelihood, he’ll be placed on IR in the next couple days.”

Signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 2010, the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Haslam appeared in five games as a rookie before he was placed on injured reserve in December with a hand injury.

“It’s unfortunate. He’s a good kid. He really wants it. He’s played a lot of different positions for us. It’s a shame to see it happen.” Del Rio added.
