WR Osgood Wants To Contribute On Offense More in 2011

Kassim Osgood, who signed with the Jaguars as a free agent last year, is one of the best special teams players in the league, but he is still trying to make his mark as a wideout and contributing any way possible. He caught 28 passes in his first two years in San Diego but then didn’t catch more than two in a season before leaving at the end of last year in an attempt to become a bigger factor in the offense for the Jaguars.

And he hopes he gets more chances to play offense in 2011, assuming there is a season. “For me, it is just being consistent. When they call your play and you’re out there, you have to be consistent and reliable. The coaches have to have full confidence and know you can go out there and make plays,” he said. But he still enjoys playing special teams. “For me, special teams is like recess. You go out there and have fun and I enjoy doing it,” he said.
