Jaguars-Giants Third Quater Recap

The Jaguars started the quarter with the ball but an INT gave the Giants great field position and the chance to make the game closer.  The INT came on a tipped ball.

The Giants would only score a field goal on the drive. It looked as if they were going to go full steam ahead with Jacobs rushing the ball 4 times for 14 yards on the drive but the Jags D forced the Giants offense to settle for yet another field goal, 17-9 Giants.

The Jaguars start their second drive of the second half at their 27-yard line. With the Jaguars facing a 3rd and 9, and the Giants defense playing better, Garrard completed an 11 yard pass to Marcedes Lewis. Again, the O-Line allowed this play to happen. On the second set of downs on this drive, the Jags faced another 3rd down but could not convert, so they had to punt. They would down the ball at the Giants 4-yard line.

The Giants only gained six yards on their ensuing drive and had to punt the ball.

The Jags’ 3rd drive of the second half saw them going back to MJD and the rushing attack with MJD getting the ball four consecutive times. On their first down, the O-Line would allow the first sack of the day and a loss of 14 yards. The Jaguars would then be forced to punt two plays later, facing a 4th and 14.

The Jaguars do not score did not have a strong third quarter, and if they play this same way in the fourth quarter, they will lose this game. Garrard could have been picked off 3 times but only got victimized once. They need to re-establish the running game in the fourth and completely wear down the Giants defense. If they give the Giants any breathing room, the Jaguars will finish the day at 6-5.
