Jaguars-Giants Second Quarter Recap

The Jaguars continue their drive from the first quarter and they move the ball down all the way down to the Giants 4-yard line, but they settled for a field goal. Jaguars add to their lead, 10-3.

The Giants’ 3rd drive of the day was quite successful. First, Bradshaw runs for 27 yards to get into Jaguars territory, and right after, Manning throws a 29-yard pass to Travis Beckum. Two plays later, the Giants would score but a holding penalty called the TD back. That call would prove to hurt the Giants two plays later as the Jaguars D forced the Giants to kick a field goal, with the Jaguars leading 10-6.

Third drive of the day for the Jaguars starts at their own 29-yard line. I really loved the protection by the O-line on the 3rd and 7 play that allowed Garrard to pass the ball 15 yards to Jason Hill. On their next set of downs and on 3rd and 5, Garrard showed his athletic ability, first rolling all the way to the right sideline and realizing he had nothing to gain, he turned around and ran all the way to the left sideline and gained 6 yards and the first down. Three plays later, Garrard would rush again for 5 yards and score a TD, 17-6 Jaguars.

The Giants start their next drive at their 31-yard line but with 15 seconds left on the clock, they do not have enough time to put up any points on the board. Jaguars head into halftime with a 17-6 lead and start with the ball in the second half.
