Jags 4000 tickets short of a sellout for Sunday vs Browns

The Jags are 4000 tickets short of selling out the game vs the Browns on Sunday.

With just under 4,000 non-premium tickets left to sell as of Tuesday night, the Jaguars are expected to ask for a 24-hour extension until 1 p.m. Friday to sell enough tickets to avoid a TV blackout for Sunday’s home game against the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Field.

Macky Weaver, the team’s senior vice president, sales and marketing, said the ticket office is busy trying to drum up additional sales this week but will likely need the extension “unless something crazy happens,” by 1 p.m. Thursday, the normal blackout deadline.

“We’re taking calls and making calls,” Weaver said.

The Jaguars are contacting single-game ticket and group-sales buyers who haven’t purchased tickets for this game and companies that subsidize ticket sales for their employees.
