Fans should get a refund after 30-3 home loss nightmare to Titans

All week long the city of Jacksonville begged to get fans to show up to the Jags Monday night football game to show the heart and soul of the city.

In the end, those fans that were there should get a refund.

In an effort that can only be described as embarrassing, the Jaguars were dominated in every aspect, being beaten from head to toe by the Tennessee Titans 30-3.

From the awful outing on offense no matter who was in there under center, to the downright confusing play calling that included 11 runs to four passes when the team was trailing by 23-3 with six minutes remaining in the football game.

David Garrard left the game in the second quarter with a concussion, not that it mattered much. He was 7-for-12 for 49 yards with a pick, and couldn’t lead the team to any points when he was in there.

Once he left, Trent Edwards came in, and at first gave the team a lift, but then the Titans D clamped down on him, and only gave up three points with him in there. Edwards went 14-for-24 for 140 yards with two picks. He also was a victim of poor play across the O-line.

Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 57 yards on 17 carries, and was ineffective all night. The Jags run defense held Chris Johnson in check early, but by the games end he put up 111 yards on 26 carries with a 35-yard TD run as well.

Titans QB Vince Young left the game for Tennessee early with a knee sprain, but veteran Kerry Collins calmly led the team to field goal drives and also threw a TD to TE Bo Scaife to make it 14-0 in the second quarter.

Overall there’s a lot of soul searching that needs to be done for the Jags. They were beaten up in every aspect of the game, and basically laid down against one of their biggest rivals.

From the way they stepped up against the Colts to the way they were able to come back vs the Bills, this was a clear 180 degree shift from any positive steps the team had been taking.

The Jags will be at KC on Sunday to take on a Chiefs team coming off a tough loss against the Texans in Houston.
