CBS Sports reports some good news from the Jags 27-26 loss Saturday night to the Dolphins, and that is QB David Garrard was not hurt after getting the wind knocked out of him in the contest:
Jaguars QB David Garrard left Saturday’s game against the Dolphins after having the wind knocked out of him. He was hit in the abdomen by a defender after throwing a pass early in the second quarter and remained down on the field for several moments before walking off the field and being replaced by Luke McCown. “I was trying to get my breath back, but then it made my head light trying to get back up so I told myself I wasn’t going to get up to try and run another play,” Garrard said. “I wasn’t really hurt, but I just couldn’t get my breath back.” He finished 6 for 8 with 79 yards passing, connecting with Mike Thomas on a 2-yard touchdown pass. Garrard doesn’t appear to be injured, and looked better in Week 2 than he did in the preseason opener, during which he struggled.
