Del Rio Allows Jones-Drew to do a Radio Show, Why Not Garrard?

Hmmm…seems to be some sort of double standard going with the Jags when it comes to radio shows. Coach Jack Del Rio is allowing RB Maurice Jones-Drew to do a fantasy show on NFL Radio, but not for QB David Garrard to do a show. What gives?

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio doesn’t think there’s a double standard in his decision to allow Maurice Jones-Drew to do a Friday night radio show this fall after frowning on David Garrard doing a Friday afternoon radio show last year according to Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union. The difference is that Garrard is a quarterback and Jones-Drew a running back, Del Rio said. “Clearly, the preparation involved with playing running back is very different than that of a quarterback,” Del Rio said in a statement. “Maurice and I spoke about him hosting a national fantasy football show this fall. Maurice is one of the more popular players in fantasy football leagues, and this is a bit of a hobby for him. This is during the season, and obviously our game preparation is important, but Maurice understands that.”
