DE Quentin Groves Passed Over By An Undrafted Rookie
Posted by Matt Loede on November 28th, 2009 in News
The career of Jaguars defensive end Quentin Groves, a second-round pick last year, continues to go in the wrong direction. Groves has been benched twice this year, and when defensive end Bryan Smith went on IR, he was bypassed for the starting job as the team decided to go with undrafted rookie Julius Williams. Groves’ problem is that he’s not effective against the run but Williams is a bit undersized at 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds, so his effectiveness against the run is in question.
