Jaguars’ Offense Stifled, 49ers Win 20-3

Typically, the San Francisco’s game plan is usually dictated by the run and their defense. During Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Candlestick Park, there was a slight change of plans in the team playbook as the pass would take center stage, with decent results. Alex Smith threw for a pair of touchdowns while [...]

DE Quentin Groves Passed Over By An Undrafted Rookie

The career of Jaguars defensive end Quentin Groves, a second-round pick last year, continues to go in the wrong direction. Groves has been benched twice this year, and when defensive end Bryan Smith went on IR, he was bypassed for the starting job as the team decided to go with undrafted rookie Julius Williams. Groves’ [...]

Jaguars Sign CB Michael Coe Off Giants’ Practice Squad

The Jaguars have signed defensive back Michael Coe off the Giants’ practice squad to their active roster, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Coe has bounced around the league in his three seasons, mainly because of his inability to stay healthy. He will likely be nothing more than depth for the Jags this season.

Jaguars Place LB Bryan Smith On Injured Reserve

The Jaguars placed linebacker Bryan Smith on injured reserve today, the team announced. Smith is out for the year with a shoulder injury after starting two games this year. Rookie defensive end Jeremy Navarre (Maryland) was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad.

CB Rashean Mathis Ruled Out Against 49ers

Jaguars’ cornerback Rashean Mathis has been ruled out of the team’s Week 12 game against the 49ers with a groin injury, according to the Twitter page of beat writer Michael C. Wright. Mathis missed last week’s game as well with the injury, so it must be serious if he has already been ruled out on [...]

Jaguars Pull Out the Late Magic Again; Top Bills 18-15

The Jaguars have found that magic touch late in games as of late, and due to that and a big effort from David Garrard in the end they have their first three-game winning streak in nearly two years after an 18-15 win over the Bills Sunday at home. The Jags move to 6-4 on the [...]

Jones-Drew Uses His Head; Jags Overcome Jets 24-22

Sometimes smart plays work, sometimes they don’t. For the Jaguars on Sunday in New Jersey vs the Jets, Maurice Jones-Drew made maybe the smartest play of the season, setting up a chip shot field goal for Josh Scobee as the Jags beat the Jets 24-22. Jones-Drew deliberately fell down so the Jaguars could run time [...]

Jags Move to 4-4; Have Enough to Hold Off Chiefs 24-21

It’s been a very up and down first half of the season for the Jaguars, and Sunday at home against the Chiefs, the team pulled off a 24-21 win, but it didn’t exactly look like it came from a team that is heading towards the postseason anytime soon. The team struggled against the one win [...]
