Buccaneers Trade McCown To Jaguars

Quarterback Luke McCown was being shopped around by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to their abundance at the position and the Jacksonville Jaguars were in need of a backup QB to starter David Garrard.
It looks like both sides satisfied their needs as the Bucs shipped McCown to the Jags for a late-round conditional pick in 2010, according to a source familiar with the dealings in question.
The trade, in my humble opinion, worked out for both sides; however, the question remains: Does Josh Johnson or rookie Josh Freeman become the backup to Byron Leftwich in Tampa? Perhaps the problem here is that Johnson is still somehwat a project while Freeman, while raw, has some major upside. I have this hunch that Freeman will get the nod as Leftwich’s understudy.
