Wilford Returns to the Jags; Now as a Tight End

Ernest Wilford is back again with the Jags, this time as a TE:

The Jaguars decided to give Ernest Wilford a second chance as a tight end and signed him Tuesday. To make room, the Jaguars waived defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis. Wilford wasn’t available for comment, but Del Rio said, “He’s the right kind of guy [for a tight end]. He does a lot of things right. He does have some toughness. He’s not going to be a point of attack blocking tight end. He’s never going to be that, but we’ll work with him and give him a chance.” At 225 pounds, Wilford is light for a tight end. But the signing is likely to be popular with Jaguars fans because Wilford was noted for doing a lot of community service work in his first stint with the team.
