Considine to Push for the Starting Safety Job
Posted by Matt Loede on March 3rd, 2009 in Features
Jags GM Gene Smith is talking in glowing terms about new safety Sean Considine. “I got a top character guy,” Smith said when asked about Considine. “He has started 17 games in the league. We feel he can compete to be the starter (at strong safety). He’s been an outstanding special teams player, as well.”
Considine is on board with a two-year deal, and not only will he complete for the safety spot, but also he can help the team on special teams, which is another need for the club.

Sean will surprise most of you out there. He’s not going to just start, he will excell at that position. This is an intelligent man who is a leader with a lot of ability. You Jags fans should be excited.
