Recently, there were rumors that Panthers defensive coordinator Mike Trgovac might jump from the Panthers to the Jaguars.
But Trgovac is staying put with the Panthers, and the Jags will be hiring former Browns defensive coordinator Mel Tucker.
NFP reported earlier today that the Jags are “very close to naming” Tucker the next defensive coordinator. We’re told that it’s all but a done deal, with the only remaining work the finalization of the contract.
Tucker was interviewed by the Browns for the head-coaching position, and also by the Seahawks for the defensive coordinator job.
