Despite a reputation for pink-slipping assistants, Jack Del Rio said he doesn’t plan to fire anyone on the current Jaguars coaching staff. “I like my staff. I’ve met with all of my staff,” Del Rio said. “I do have a few guys on my staff [with] opportunities that have put themselves in positions to have options available,” Del Rio said. “We will work through that over the next several days and weeks. There are a couple of guys on our staff that will be considered for some of the openings in the league.

So we’ll let that play out and adjust accordingly.” Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and special teams coach Joe DeCamillis appear to be the mostly likely to leave. Both are no longer under contract, and both are regarded as top coaches in their respective disciplines. Defensive assistant Tom Williams is a finalist for the head-coaching job at Yale. Asked point-blank if he planned to fire any assistants, Del Rio said, “No.”
