Del Rio: Garrard Trying Too Hard

A team that has started the season 0-2 is looking to stay the course.

That’s the message from Jack Del Rio.

“Part of the ride involves ups and downs, ” Del Rio said. “We’re going to stay the course. We believe in what we’re doing and who we’re doing it with.”

That sounds strange. An 0-2 team that has scored only two touchdowns this year not changing their approach. But Del Rio believes in his approach so much that even after two losses, he isn’t going to change his process.

However, there will be changes. Del Rio admitted that David Garrard may be trying too hard to make plays with so many injuries on the offensive side of the ball.

“I think there certainly is a desire for him to help us win and maybe he’s taking more on his shoulders to start the season than we’d like,” Del Rio said.

As for Garrard, he’s looking for that last missing piece to get the offense in a groove.

“We definitely did some good thing, we just didn’t finish those drives,” Garrard said. “Whether it was me and a receiver or the O-line talking things out, it was just a few things that we can correct ourselves.”
