Williams to Have Arthroscopic Surgery on Injured Knee
Posted by Matt Loede on July 30th, 2008 filed in Injuries, NewsThe news has gone from bad to worse for Jags WR Reggie Williams. Last night Williams re-injured his knee, this just a few hours after he was actiavted and taking part in his first practice. Now it is being announced by the Jags that Williams will have arthroscopic surgery and the team is not saying when he may return.
“He is going to need a little clean-out with some cartilage,” coach Jack Del Rio said. “He should return to form. I’ll give you a timeframe once I get one. I don’t want to guess, but he will need to have that procedure done and then rehab and get back to full speed.”
Williams first injured the knee working out last week, then made it back and was on the field last night when he made a spin move and then limped off the field. He was then carted to the back. The wide out is coming off his best season after being a first-round pick, as last year he caught 10 TD’s and put up 16.6 yards per catch.
