Del Rio
In a move that does not come as much of a surprise, the Jaguars have given head coach Jack Del Rio a contract extension.  While the terms and length of the deal are not known, AP is reporting that the deal is expected to be a “significant jump” from his original deal signed back in 2003 for five years at a total of $6.5 million.

Del Rio has been a solid coach for the past five seasons, leading the Jags to a 12-4 mark in 2005 (losing to New England in a wild card game) and then this past season the team beat the Steelers in the wild card round, only to again fall to the Pats, this time in the divisional round.

He did get a pay raise after the 12-4 season in 2005, and now will get another one to likely put him in the upper tier of coaches.  He is 45-35 in the five seasons he’s spent with the Jags.
