These days, it must be good to be Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard, especially after this past season; obviously, the team doesn’t want to lose him any time soon as according to NFL.com, the Jaguars and Garrard are close to a contract extension that would make Garrard the highest-paid player in franchise history. The deal could be finalized as early as this week.
Garrard enjoyed a breakthrough season in his first season as the Jags’ starting QB; he recorded a 102.2 QB rating, while leading the Jaguars to an 11-5 record; he also passed for 2,509 yards with 18 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions in 12 games last season.
