Jaguars Look To Snuff Out Steelers Again
Posted by Matt Loede on January 4th, 2008 filed in NewsDespite a better record, the Jaguars find themselves on the road to open the 2008 NFL playoffs against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday night at Heinz Field. The Jags won 11 of their 16 regular-season games, but still finished second behind the AFC South champion Colts. Quarterback David Garrard looks to continue his 2007 success, having thrown 18 touchdowns to just three interceptions this season. Running back Fred Taylor also racked up more than 12-hundred yards rushing for Jacksonville, which already has a 29-22 Week 15 win at Pittsburgh to its credit. Taylor torched the Steelers for 147 yards and the game-deciding score in that win. After a 9-and-3 start, Pittsburgh lost three of its final four games to fall to the fourth seed in the AFC. Ben Roethlisberger has tossed a career-high 32 touchdowns this season, including three against the Jags. Jacksonville has won the last three meetings.
