Jags O-Lineman McDougle Charged After Scuffle

In a season where already too many players have gotten in legal trouble, today offensive tackle Stockar McDougle was charged with pushing the owner of a landscaping comapny and a female clerk about a bill he was given. Word has it the store owner then struck McDougle’s car with a shovel because he thought the lineman was trying to run him over. McDougle was released on bail Friday night. He was arrested Friday and charged with battery on a person 65 and older, a felony, and touch-strike battery, a misdemeanor, after he went to pay a debt, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office report. He became angry when owner Quilone Mitchell said he owed $2,229.48 and not $1,200 because of interest, the report said. McDougle, a first-round draft pick by Detroit in 2000, was out for the season with an Achilles’ tendon injury. All in all, 8 Jags have been arrested since January of 2006. We’ll have to wait and see what type of punishment McDougle gets for this foolish act.
