Scobee out 3-to-6 weeks

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without their starting kicker for some time. Kicker Josh Scobee, who is suffering from a strained quadriceps muscle, is expected to miss a minimum of three and up to 6 weeks. Also, as expected (and as was posted here at Jaguars Gab), the Jaguars signed veteran kicker John Carney to a 1-year contract.
Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio told ESPN regarding the Scobee setback, “I know Josh has made statements where he maybe feels that will be a little quicker timeframe, but that’s what the doctors are indicating is the best way to proceed so this doesn’t become an ongoing or a major issue. Ideally you have a guy like Josh who can do both. Right now, to go get a young guy that can just bang it out of the end zone versus a guy that’s going to be able to give you a steady three points, we want to make sure we can get the three when we’re in position to get it.”
