Jacksonville’s starting center Brad Meester is expected to undergo foot surgery Wednesday and miss eight-to-ten weeks. The seven-year veteran broke a bone in his right foot Monday during practice. Head coach Jack Del Rio hopes Meester can return to the Jaguars after the team’s bye the week of September 30th. Originally, it was thought he suffered an ankle sprain, but X-rays exposed the severity of the injury. Meester was a second-round draft pick out of Northern Iowa in 2000. He has started 108 games over the last seven seasons. The Jags are expected to turn to backup Dennis Norman while Meester recovers.
