Del Rio on the Hot Seat According to KFFL.com Article

The pressure is on Jags head coach Jack Del Rio according to Del Rioa new article on KFFL.com.  The site has come out with an article about coaches being on the hot seat for 2007, and sure enough, Del Rio is on the list.  There is no question that Del Rio has been talked about in terms of a coach that could find himself fired sometime in 2007.  Below are the comments made by the site in regard to Del Rio and where he stands as the 2007 season gets closer.

Jack Del Rio, Jacksonville Jaguars (2006 record: 8-8)

After turning a strong 12-4 team in 2005 into an 8-8 one last season, it is make-or-break time for Del Rio in Jacksonville. None of the quarterbacks have separated themselves and shown to be a leader, and that has to change for Del Rio to stick. He is a solid coach, but another season of mediocrity and he might be labeled one that is not able to get this team to the next level.

This Jaguars team is simply too talented to post .500 records, and if Del Rio can’t get them over the hump, owner Wayne Weaver might be forced to look for someone that can. Part of the reason Del Rio is to blame is because of the amount of underperforming talent. Not only has quarterback Byron Leftwich not proven to be worth a first-round pick, but their first-round picks in the next three years, wide receivers Reggie Williams and Matt Jones, have not lived up to their potential either.
